Amazon has strict image requirements that can get your listing suppressed if you don't follow them. Here's what you need to know for 2026.
Main image requirements
Your main product image (the one shoppers see in search results) must have a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255). The product must fill at least 85% of the image frame, and there should be no text overlays, watermarks, or logos on the main image.
Amazon recommends images that are at least 2000 x 2000 pixels to enable the zoom feature, which has been shown to increase conversions. The minimum accepted size is 1000px on the longest side.
Accepted file formats
Amazon accepts JPEG (.jpg), PNG, GIF, and TIFF. However, JPEG is recommended for the best balance of quality and file size. Maximum file size is 10 MB per image.
Secondary image best practices
You can upload up to 8 additional images beyond the main image. These can include lifestyle shots, infographics, size comparisons, and packaging photos. Unlike the main image, secondary images can have colored backgrounds and text.
Common reasons for listing suppression
The most frequent image-related suppression causes are: non-white backgrounds on the main image, text or promotional badges on the main image, images that are too small for zoom, and watermarks or brand logos overlaid on the product.
How Lumipic helps
